FAQ
What is a composite insulator?
A composite insulator, also known as silicone rubber insulator, consists of a fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin core rod, silicone rubber housing, and metal end fittings. It is widely used in overhead power transmission lines and substations.
What are your main product types?
We supply suspension composite insulators, pin type composite insulators, line post insulators, hollow composite insulators for bushings, and custom insulators for special voltage classes.
What voltage grades do you offer?
Our products cover 10kV, 35kV, 66kV, 110kV, 220kV, 330kV, 500kV, 750kV and 1000kV. Custom specifications are available upon request.
What are the advantages of composite insulators compared with porcelain insulators?
Light weight, excellent hydrophobicity and anti-pollution flashover performance, high mechanical strength, resistance to vandalism, easy transportation and installation, low maintenance cost.
What is the service life of your composite insulators?
Under normal operating conditions, the designed service life is more than 20 years.
Can your insulators work in heavily polluted areas?
Yes. We provide different shed profiles and silicone rubber formulas for heavy pollution, coastal salt fog and industrial contamination environments.
Which international standards do your products comply with?
Our composite insulators are manufactured per IEC 61109, IEC 62217, ANSI, GB/T standards. Relevant test reports and certificates can be provided.
Can you supply test certificates?
Yes. We can offer type test reports, routine test certificates and factory inspection documents for each order.
Do you accept customized insulator designs?
Yes. We can customize core rod diameter, shed shape, creepage distance, fitting type and marking according to your technical drawings.
What is your production lead time?
Normally 2–4 weeks after receiving deposit. It depends on order quantity and custom requirements.
What is your MOQ (minimum order quantity)?
Small trial orders are acceptable. MOQ depends on product model, please contact us for details.
What are your payment terms?
We accept T/T & L/C. Other terms can be negotiated for long-term cooperation.
Do you provide installation guidance?
Yes. We supply installation manuals and technical support. Our engineers can offer online technical consultation.
What should I do if there are product quality problems?
Please send photos and test records to us. We will analyze the issue and provide solutions in a timely manner.
How to store composite insulators before installation?
Keep them in dry and shaded warehouse, avoid direct sunlight, sharp scratches and heavy pressure on silicone rubber housing.
Is regular maintenance required for composite insulators in service?
Routine visual inspection is recommended. Normally no cleaning is needed due to the hydrophobic silicone rubber housing. Cleaning shall be carried out only in extremely severe contaminated environments.
